Does anyone know if the liner notes in the Disco Defenders CD has the lyrics to all the songs? I just recently became an Alcazar fan and I'm obsessed with their song "Thank You", but there are a few words I'm not sure about so I looked them up online and I want to see if they are actually correct. I want to buy the CD but it's a little harder in America than it would be in Europe.

Thank you for the joy that you gave

Yes the booklet has all the lyrics of the songs. But please note, it has the lyrics of the new songs. As I'm sure you know the Disco Defenders album has 2 CDs. One with the new songs and one with some of their greatest hits.

Here are the lyrics to Thank you. It's nice to hear that you recently became a fan of Alcazar.

Thank you

I still remember when music
got into my heart
Someone was telling me
there's someone singing
the way things are
I couldn't believe the first moment
That music could sound
like you do
I'm paying the tribute for
loving like I do
'Cos knowing you was knowing me

Thank you for the joy that
you gave
Thank you for glimmering night
and day
Thank you for the songs we sing
and play
you created history
for all the world and for me
I wanna thank you for the joy you gave

Since I remember was always a
happy new year
No one had ever been singing
their music so bright and clear
Though we never admitted we
loved you
The future was telling the truth
when dealin' was done all the
doubts they were gone
and the winner waved so long

Thank you so much, alca and admin. I only heard of Alcazar because I have a Swedish friend who told me about Melodifestivalen in 2009, which led to Eurovision, and Alcazar was in Melodifestivalen. And then last week I ran across Thank You. If Alcazar's music is played in America, I haven't heard it so it's really hard for me to find it. I found a European site that will ship to America, now I just have to figure out the exchange rate :)
Is Alcazar's music considered "Schlager"? I'm still not completely sure what Schlager is so I'm trying to figure it out.

Thank you for the joy that you gave

Some people say it's schlager. To me Alcazar's music is not schlager... More of a pop/new disco mixture. In my opinion...

Can you give me an example of a group or singer that everyone recognizes as schlager?

Thank you, alca, I'll try to find their music. I just want to hear what schlager is.
And on another note, is it true that Alcazar broke up? :(

You'll find too many songs on youtube. ;)

Well they didn't actually brake up... They are taking a break. For how long, nobody knows. They said they will come back but perhaps in another form... Who knows what will happen? All we have to do is wait.

Oh, i think it's so fun when people from all over the world hear about alcazar and then LIKE what they hear! :D

I have a blog about Melodifestivalen with some friends and the question about what a schlager is today is kinda hard to answer. When Melodifestivalen started in 1958 it was called "Schlagerfestivalen" and Schlager is a german word for "something that hit" so you can say that schlager is a different name for a hit! :)

The festival have developed in tact with the music industry so it's not so much schlager in it anymore but the songs in the festival are automatically called for "schlagers". Today all different genres are participating in the contest. Mostly pop but also rock and rap. I would say that Alcazar are in the genre "pop/disco"

This is a TYPICALLY modern schlager. It's in swedish cause it's hard to find good schlager in english.
Linda Bengtzing - Jag ljuger så bra

Hope you feel that you learned something! :)

Thank you, alca, that's good to know. It would suck if they broke up for good just as I was discovering their music.

Sara, yep I actually like Alcazar. I just wish they were played on American radio.
And thank you for the lesson in schlager. I watched that video by Linda Bengtzing - I actually like that song! I really live in the wrong country :)

Thank you for the joy that you gave
